has anyone heard of a problem with our fuel gauge being inaccurate? i've always noticed that the needle goes down faster as the tank gets lower, and then i read something on another website that said that there is a problem with the fuel gauge being off by almost 1/4 tank. my tank has been on E before and i've always filled up and not gone much further, then i thought about how much gas i usually get into it when i fill it and it only takes about 10 gallons, that means there's 5 gallons left!! i didn't even know that our cars had a fuel light because mine has never even gone on. has anyone ever heard anything like this, and if anyone has, does anyone have a fix for it? i asked mitsubushi, and they say that they've never heard anything about it. thanks

I noticed that my car only get like about 11 gallons at the pump...don't know about your gas light not goin on though.....
mines one goes on almost everytime before I fill....

OH MY GOD!!!! I thought i was losing my mind for the last 5 years! Everytime i'm on E i fill up we are supposed to have a 16.9 gal tank and it only fills to 12.5 that would be a quarter tank off wouldn't it? and yes my friend it does go down really fast. it will stay a F for 3/4 days then it's almost like you're leaking while driving! it's an amazing thing!
I haven't heard anything or read anything because i thought it was normal!

i know, this is really annoying me, and i was wondering if anyone knew of a fix for it anywhere. also, i just assumed, but does the RS have a fuel light?

I've got the same problem where it goes down to have a tank really slow so I think I'm getting great gass mileage and then after the first half a tank it just kind of plummets, but it will sit at the bottom for about 75 miles before the light comes on. and yeah I have an RS and I've got a fuel light.

does anyone know if there is a fix for it? and is a fuel light standard on all RS's?

I have a 96' GS.. where on the damn DB does the light come on? (i don't think i have a light.)

I have the same problem.. i always think i'm gonna get good mileage till after the half way point.. that's when it drains.. i used to get about 400 miles per full tank by the time the light goes on and the needle is like right on the E.. but for the past year or so.. the needle's been going way below E before the light turns on.. i get scared sometimes thinking that the light don't work any more.. but it eventually turns on.. i always wait till the light goes on before i fill up.. maybe that's not a good idea?

alright ya'll i think i can answer some of this for you and i hae seen a sorta fixit off of dsm.org it was for 2g awd's cause the tank is split in half cause of the drive shaft, there some kind of sensor that relays the signal from the tank to the dash, duh. but this guy was an electronics guy and he ghetto rigged some thing and he had it set for the light to only come on when he's low on gas. your low gas light is right next to the fuel gauge on the very bottom it's orange like the check engine light, i know this cause i've driven with it on for over 90 miles cause i'm the brokest mofo around ;). anyhow yeah goto dsm.org and look for the troubleshooting section and browse in there you should find something interesting. anyhow i guess i contributed to this. at least you know you can drive 90 miles on your gas light before your actually out of gas

Thank you, i have another ??, on the DB next to the fuel guage on the bottom you say the light is on the bottom. can you tell just by looking at the dash during the day that there's supposed to be a light there? because i looked and it doesn't look like a light should be there... wow 90 miles. no wonder i get Sh!tty gas mileage. i'm only in the high 200's low 300's depending on how much highway driving i do. i knew something wasn't right.
