34102, RS*R exhaust review

Just got back from swapping out the pacesetter system for the RSR system.

Quality/fitment/sound is excellent.

Piping is 70mm (2.75" for you non-metric asses) mandrel all the way back versus the pacesetter 2.5 mandrel.

Muffler is not as large as the Apex World sport, hence it is more subtle ====> hopefully less hassle from cops. (Pnoymahal, keep your WS and just paint the face graphite or a darker color.) Top of the muffler has RSR stickers on it, and the bottom has a laser etched "RSR" logo with some guy nex to it.

Flanges/ gaskets are thick, similar to Apex. RRE confirm that that they are the same manufacture.

Exhaust tip is about 3.14" and points straight out. It is flush with the body work, so no big ass cop attractiong tip. 5.14" is available, but will be ahrd to find. Side of the tips also has Stamped RSR logo on it.

PErformance wise, turbo now spools quickly. At 5psi, lag is minimal. Picked up much top end. Noise level is exteremly tolerable. Deeper than GST exhaust, but not much louder. Rated at 87db vs. 83db stock at 5250rpm as indicated in the paperworks (yes it is compliant with vehicle codes). Compliant doesnot seem correctly spelled.

I suspect I can achieve the same performance with the pacesetter, but the muffler has to go. Price for this route will probably end up to slightly less.

160 pacesetter system
100 magnaflow muffler
20-30 exhaust tip (optional)
30-40 welding labor

the system is ceramic coated piping till the wheel axle, then stainless steel till the exhaust tip. So chances of it rusting is minute.

Overall I'm very happy with the system. Will road test it more to see if the system will be louder with usage. For 385 cash (no tax or S/H), I'm very satisfy with it.

If anyone is interested, let me know I'll guide you in the right direction. The Seller also has GST/GSX DP for 135 and 195 (material). Both ceremic coated or stainless steel, it replaces the full DP + cat for racing applications. Also 70mm. Come with all flange, gasket, nuts, bolts, but no street legal papers. So uses responsibility....:P

thanx for viewing.
