Hey guys,

Just an idea how well our Lotus designed head flows, which many here have assumed to flow even better than the 4g63 heads; well in fact it does (at least one point)!

More numbers later, but "the intake cfm hit alittle over 250cfm @ approx .450valve lift and the exhaust tops out at 175cfm @ .500 valve lift." http://www.neons.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=53518&highlight=head+flow

For reference purposes, the 4g63 head #'s are as follows:

intake flow comparison (cfm)
lift stock 2g stock1g DPR 2g
.100 47 49 45
.200 94 97 91
.300 126 131 127
.350 131 139 140
.400 134 140 147
.450 131 142 151

exhaust flow comparison (cfm)
lift stock 2g stock 1g DPR 2g*
.100 36 37 40
.200 89 91 88
.300 113 115 120
.350 116 119 127
.400 116 119 132
.450 118 120 137

Taking the referenced intake and exhaust duration for each application, you can see that it isn't even close. I mean, the stock 420a head outflowed by a LARGE margin the 4g63 2g PORTED head. wow! :o

Heck, compare our numbers with that of a 3000gt VR4, and they're STILL close!

3000gt VR4:

100 95.2 101.1
150 138.3 144.2
200 174.0 181.8
250 205.0 217.1
300 226.0 245.4
350 240.0 260.3
400 249.0 261.8

Exhaust
Lift Stocker Ported
050 56.9 47.4
100 98.1 85.4
150 128.1 125.0
200 167.7 158.2

I'm sure we are very close to that, but we may not flow teh same as the Neons, there are suble differnce between our heads. For example valve spring install height... the obvious swap of intake and exhaust in relation to coolant flow.

but I would like to say.... HAAAAAAAHAAAAAAA!!!!!!

I wonder how much flow I have? ;)

Blackdog Race Port, notice the blending of the valve guides. Purty.

I think we found another reason to tell the 4g63 guys at dsmtalk.com why we keep our 420a and turbocharge it instead of "selling it and buying a gst/x". Those are some really impressive #s for our head. I'm proud to have one :)
