33952, Clutch switch disable question.... Posted by Total Eclipse, Oct-02-02 06:39 AM
How do i disable the clutch switch so that i can start my car without depressing my clutch. Lately I've been having problems starting every now and then and i think that may have something to do with it. Thanks.

If you look against the firewall to the left and above the clutch mechanism there is a white plug that is kinda barrell shaped. That is the connector for the switch, just unplug it and it will be disabled. All you need to do if your unsure is follow the wires from the switch to the connector. Took me about 2 minutes to find mine and take care of that small problem.

Ok, I was under the dash looking for this "barrel" shaped plug, and all i see are 2 white plugs wrapped in brown foam. I need to disable this as I think its why my car wont start at times. Anyone else know what this thing looks like in better detail?

Yeah. I took a picture of it while I was instaling my AutoCommand. If you follow the switch wires around, you'll see where it comes into this gang connection. Just disconnect this gang and you wont have to push on the clutch to start it anymore. It's the white 2-wire gang with the black and green/black wires on one side and black and blue wires on the other.

if you start the car while the car is in gear and the clutch is engaged.. that can be a problem.
