33920, Heres a weird question Posted by fungul, Oct-01-02 06:27 PM
I just got my set of 8.5 MSD spark plug wires today which I like alot so far, but I noticed that they packed some weird blue thing in the box with the wires. The things about 7 inches long, cilentrical, blue, one and is kind of shaped like a shoe horn or something, and it has white numbers that slide up and down the shaft. What the hell is this thing! I was thinking maybe it was some kind of tool for putting the wires on and off the vehicle but then what are the little numbers that slide up and down the thing for?
Thanks
Dean.

could it be: ------------------------------------------------------ Cylinder Markers These great little markers will save you time and ensure that the plug wires are always in the right place. The Markers clamp onto the wires and stay firmly in position. They are molded from a firm plastic material that withstands high underhood temperatures and are available in two sizes. The Markers are supplied on a trick tool that makes installation effortless.

Nah, MSD includes this with all their wires. Its mainly for those that like to keep tabs on their wires and know which wire goes to #1,#2,#3 and so on. It's helpful for the V8 guys that have 8 wires and if the remove all wires while changing plugs, they'll know where to hook them back up at. It's just a numbering system for the wires. That's why they slide up and down cuz you can actually take them off that thing and stick around the plug wires.

yupyup, you put the flared out fat part around the wire and just slide the numbers off and they will snap around the wires. lates james
