33882, intake manifold compatibility question
Posted by 1TuffRS, Oct-01-02 12:25 AM
Im wondering if the intake manifold off of a 95 will work on my 97. One of the guys in my car club is a tech over at chrysler and he says that that the part numbers are different. The reason Im asking is we finished modifying the jeep tb and we used the upper intake manifold off of a 95 to make it work. No its not on my car yet, it is on the techs car, a 99 auto. He did all the work to it and I just paid for it, so I let him try it out until this weekend when it will be on my car for good. I want to port that manifold and put it on my car if it will work on my 97. TIA

I've never heard of any differences and have seen 95 and 97 out of car. You should have no problem.

Well common sense should tell you Toney that if it works on a 99 than it should work on a 97. Sometimes I want to slap you........

im not talking about the upper half of the manifold dumbass, im talking about the lower half. You know the one that is still sitting in Dougs house and not on his car. I know that the upper half will work without a problem, hell the part numbers are the same on those two pieces.

well, the only things that could be diff is the way it bolts to the manifold (doubt that has changed) and where the injectors sit on the bottom of the lower plenum...

just eyeball it... im sure that our injector placement changed from 95 to 97...

i dont think u will have problems, but if your lookin for problems, find out the diff by eying the lower plenums........... and maybe measurin em, the spacin between injectors...

i really dont think u will have a problem tho, try it out..if it dont fit, your out a cuple bux for the gasket... and sum time w/that dam alternator bolt ;-)

good luck either way...

They are exactly the same. I've taken the spare 97 I once had had it ported then put on my 99, then the 99 ported and put on a 98, then the 98 ported and put on a 95. They are all the same.
