My engine is pullin a carmen electra if you know what I mean. Im almost certain not ALL dsm's get this hot. BY the way its a 95 NT Talon. Well it quickly warms up to half but goes up to 70% when driving. I think that its normal. I doubt all your cars get up to this but I doubt I really have a problem here.

I was wondering is there some mod to make an air scoop under the car to suck air into the engine? Like maybe after the engine, so more air goes up than goes by? Anyone done this? Thanks.

Mine stays a bit below half. I think you should have your coolant system flushed and refilled. Whatever it is get it checked out. 70% seems a little hot.

Mine stays between 1/4 and 1/2. I flushed my coolant not to long ago and about 2 months after that added a bottle of Redline Waterwetter. That alone made a huge difference, you might want to try that, for 9 bucks you can't go wrong....

I think our temp gauge is supposed to stay right in the middle (mine does) Yes it should heat up quickly (mine does that too)

The gauge isn't a very good one, and I think if it ever goes over 1/2 way there is something wrong (or something potentially wrong) and I'd get it checked out just to be safe.

Hey where is our themostat sensor thing? I have a 95 NT Talon......

I've been in freeway traffic with a temp of 90 degs and the AC on, and the meter stays at 50%. You might want to have your coolant system serviced.

Mine stays right below half. just about half way.

As suggested by others change out the thermostat, flush and refill coolant. If this does not cure, check the temp gauge sender. It's the smaller of the two senders mounted in the lower thermostat housing. As these age and fail, their resistance changes giving false readings at the temp gauge.
The fast warm up is usual as the temp is taken from a "hot spot" below the thermostat but the overheating is not common.
