Who is faster-- The 4 banging, nice looking 2gnt or the V6 ugly 3gnt?

I dunno about off the line, but a 2G should rip up a 3G on a road course anyday!! 2G's have less weight, and I'm sure better handling. So if you have one tailing you on a little country or canyon road, you would dust him, unless you're in an auto, and he's got a V6 with a 5 speed. Get some nitrous. My wife won't let me though! :'(

The 3g's with the V6 have a lot more stock horsepower. 200 for the GT and 210 for the GTS. So I would assume they are faster in stock trim than our 140hp 4cyl.

a 3G V6 is MUCH faster then a 2gnt. 2gnt is around 16.5 1/4mile time stock.. while the 3g V6 is around 14.9-15.1 1/4mile stock (more on the low 15's side i'm sure) .. big difference.

i don't know the numbers.. but i'm guessing the 3g rs would be about the same speed.. having about the same HP and weight.. anybody got numbers on those things?

3g's are slower then us, mine ran a 18.5. my bud in his 3g ran a wonderful 20 flat

lol, imma AUTO 2g GS...for now...

i know josh(shuwa29) ran a 17.3 with his timing off. he's got the s-afc in there now and is getting a new o2 sensor then getting his car tuned. he should be doing 16's after that and he is auto as well.________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

the weight to horse power ratio is better on a 2g rs than it is on a 3g rs, it also depends on the drivers, how far they will push a car

hehe, 3gs have so many different ets it's crazy, most of them only can run low 16s stock... i've raced 3 and beat them all... but an aem cai wakes the the hell up big time... my g/f has a 3g gt spyder, as far as stock, out non turbo and their gt run very close usually, all depends on the driver imo makes a big difference ofcourse, also if they're manual or sportronic

i raped a gts yesterday spraying a 75 shot by like 8-9 car lengths and then raced him straight up without it and it was like 2-3 cars. he had a spyder gts so im guessing those are even slower cause the weight.

I took a stock 2000 GT on the freeway in my 99 auto RS with only a Iceman CAI and gs-t muffler. He would pull on me until about 80, then I would just walk all over him from 80-110. Ran like 5+ times so I know it wasn't a fluke. fwiw.

Well i raced a GT with 368 miles on the motor and he never pulled, i stayed dead even with him. I only have an intake and crappy exhaust.

I've beet a GT when my car was NT guy must've not of known how to drive. Coulda been an automatic also. 2GNT rule over 3Gs :P oh oh but I did battle a 3G on a hill climb on time when I was turbo. And it gave me a pretty good fight. That torque helps hehe....

I raced a GT like 3 days ago. It was close up until about 40, then he started pullin, then at about 75-80 it seemed like I was starting to pull up on him some again, i got pretty close but backed off at 90 and said fuck it. too many tickets allready. :P He kept going for a bit then backed off. I tried to give him a thumbs up and say nice run, but he wouldnt even look in my direction. Not sure what that was all about.

I was at Capitol Raceway here in Maryland this past Friday, and got to see some 3rd gens in action. Let me first start off by saying that our cars are heavy, and their cars seemed to be even more heavier.

I saw a 3G V6 (seemed stock) pull a 15.9 at best (A girl was driving with her boyfriend in the car). I saw a 3G GS their, and he ran 16.8 at best after about 3 runs. I got lucky and went against another 3G V6 (seemed stock). He did 16.0, and I did 16.8.

If he had had some mods I think he'd have probably done better. But while their fast, their not as fast as I thought.

this question is kinda silly considering the 3g non turbo's are 2.4 liter 4cyl, compared to the 2gnt 2.0liter, and the 3.0l gt v6 making about the same as the 2.0l 4cyl gsx. pssh, spend that 15,000 on a 2gnt and run circles around them all day. and they lost the speed bump hood :(. reminds me of those mustangs, vroom vroom 4.6l v8 pushing 260hp, what a beast! where's all that displacement going?

What mods did you have then? (besides nitrous)

I have had 3G's ride my ass and try and keep up after I get tired of it. They don't seem fast. Maybe I caught the auto ones. Then again, I have seen a modded WRX run 18.8 b4. Sometimes, drivers suck.

rebuilt motor with 10.5:1 pistons, p&p head, ported intake mani, all the bolt ons minus the cam gears that im lacking now.
