What options do we have? I do not want to get a full stand alone but I want to increase my rev limiter. Does anyone have any suggestions.

yep...that about sums it up. either go with the AEM EMS (don't know if any other stand alone does the adjustable rev limiter or not) or try to get Gary to make one for the 95's

Has anyone tried the AEM unit. I don't want to have to tune it so thats why I really dont want to deal with it but if this is the only way I can still retain the use of the AC I will consider it.

as far as i know, no one on the board has. but it's mainly for a really built car. i wouldn't bother unless you were pushing some major hp. also the price wouldn't be right just to move the rev limiter because the gains wouldn't be significant enough, although thats a very good feature on it :) but for your question, i think they give a base line so you can start the car but you'd need to tune it on a dyno to get everything right. hope that helped

Well I have the Crane Turbo cams and the valvetrain, crower rods, je pistons and a HRC stage 2turbo kit. So I want to take advantage of the parts I purchased. How much do you think it would cost to have a shop tune the AEM unit. If its not too much I might buy it for christmas. TIA

Theres a shop around here that installs the AEM system and they can't say enough good things about it. They also will tune it on the dyno for 250/hour. I dont know how long it would take to tune it perfectly, but I would plan on 2 hours. There's a local guy around here with a neon and a HRC stage 2 kit with built internals etc... who was using an afc, and a crane ignition w/ timing retard control. He switched over to the AEM unit and gained 93 whp on the dyno just from getting it tuned perfectly. Don't underestimate the power of a standalone system and a dyno :7

hmm that TTi racing ecu might work when it comes out not sure. Yes 95s are the odd balls out of the whole 2GNT line hehe...

For the price of the TTI ecu I might as well get the AEM and more flexibility.

If i was to go with a standalone, i'd probably go with the Electromotive Tec3. They already have an app for the 1995-1999 Dodge Neon SOHC/DOHC. (Which as we all know uses the same engine as our cars.)

When you look at all the capabilities of this one unit... versus having to use several different "Black boxes", ie an s-afc, aftermarket boost controller, missing link, programable MSD, the price is not that much after all.

You can use the tec3 to retard timing based on boost, control boost based on rpm, set your own rev limit, control multiple injectors, individual cylinder timing, and all sorts of awesome features that make me want one Sooooooooo bad!

AEM doesn't make a standalone for Neons, you must be thinking of Greg's red ACR sedan with a DTA setup.

AEM SUCKS!!!! I absolutely hate the interface. It's a pain in the butt to tune with. I've spent my fair share of time on the dyno tuning my friend's built and boosted Civic Si.
