You can get these for $50 on eBay occasionally...are yours pre-modified?

yeah his are already modified to fit our cars. I would get one from him, but a buddy and I are modifying one for my car now. We are almost done though. We didnt go about it exactly as he did and I think that if our fix for the hole in the manifold works out it will be better. We do have one question though, will our cars be able to compensate for all the new found air that this TB supply to our cars?? If I happen to blow the engine because of it I can always just strip the car down and drop it off at the dealership for another one again since Im still under warranty, but I would rather not go through the hassle. TIA

Toney it is highly unlikely that a larger throttle body will cause your motor to blow because it can keep up with air flow. I mean our cars can handle 250hp on the stock fuel system. Believe me, a larger TB and ported manifold will not out flow 8 psi of boost. C'mon man you know better than that. The real gains come from less restriction and higher flow, so the engine does not have to work as hard to get air. Good Lord your UDP probably gave you more power than the Jeep TB will.

whats the advantage of a jeep throttle body vers a over bore on the stock jobber and is there a faq or somwhere that shows what needs to be modded??

>whats the advantage of a jeep throttle body vers a over bore >on the stock jobber
It can flow just as much or more than a bored stock jobber. The highest that I've seen them bore eclipse TBs is 57mm, but it seems more popular to bore to 55mm. The Jeep TB is 55mm out of the box, 60mm with the taper removed, and can be bored to 62mm.

This is a neon writeup. There may be some subtle differences for our cars. http://www.geocities.com/lover232/Enjoy.html

I realize that our injectors can support the power of 8psi, but not our entire stock fuel system. With the turbo kits they include a different fuel pump, an adjustable fuel regulator, etc. Those changes allow the injectors to flow more fuel so I think Dougs concerns are valid.

as you all know our cars run so rich from the factory anyway, and this isnt like cramming 10 lbs of boost into the engine anyway.
were you worried when you added a K&N intake? prob. not the ecu will easily compensate for this mod.

Yeah, the concern may be valid but the problem is dead easy to spot. Keep an eye on the a/f ratio. If you start to lean out too much get a Walbro pump. Shit, I'd love to have that problem N/A - "Oh no, my car wants more feul!"
People are running these TBs N/A without problems. Look at Larry, he's N/A and hasn't had problems for 4 months. My bet would be that you won't blow your motor AND you won't need a higher flowing pump.

now what kinda jeep did this come from again? was it a 90s automatic 4.0 L TB?

If I can remember correctly they came off 90's jeep 4.0L auto.
You need the auto. I think the manual is only 55mm.
The only problem you can have from this mod is the idle. You must make sure that the plate shuts all the way.
I'm also running nitrous, and still no problems.
I also test each TB before it is sent to ensure that everything is in working order and the idle is good.
hope this helps
