does anyone have a write up on how to install a throttle body i figured its just bolt on but since i go a 55mm one do i have to do anything to it to make it fit??let me know thanks

I just installed mine about 2 weeks ago. It was pretty easy.

You'll want to buy a TB gasket first. My local Chrysler charged me about 4 bucks. Mitsu will be slightly more.

Did your bored TB come with sensors? If not, you'll need Torx drivers to remove the sensors from you stock TB and put them on your bored TB.

-remove your air intake hose/pipe ( screwdriver)

-remove the accelerator cable from the stock TB

-Unplug the two sensors attached to the TB.

-Use a ratchet to unscrew the two bolts connecting the Tb to the intake manifold.

-The TB should come right off, but it then you will find another metal bracket attached with a Torx screw to the bottom of the TB linking it to another wire. You can try to unscrew it, but it'll be bitch! I just unplugged the wire and pryed the metal piece off of a plastic clip holding it to the wire. It will not affect the TB or your car's performance. Just make sure you don't damage the wire.

-Now, the TB will come right off and you can transfer the sensors if your Bored TB didn't come with any.

-Go back to the intake manifold opening and scrape off all the remaining old gasket that may be stuck there. This will also be a good time to use some carb cleaner and spray the inside of the intake manifold.

-match up the new gasket, bolt up the new TB, plug in all the sensors, reattach the accelerator cable, reattach the intake pipe/hose. U r done :)

(before you attach the intake hose, you might want to do the accelerator cable adjustment found in the "mods" section of the home page)

I love my bored TB...just need to clean my air filter now.....

Note that sparying carb cleaner into a non-running motor will cause it to start hard and smoke a bit when it is finally started. Don't be alarmed, and it'll stop when the carb cleaner is burned off.

yeah, if you spray carb cleaner into the intake manifold, it will start hard. Step on your throttle pedal a little while starting your car, that should keep it from cutting off. You'll see a bunch of black smoke shoot out of your exhaust, which is cool , imo. heh heh

I have been reading a lot of about the TB boring over the last few days. Many people have talked about sending off the TB to be bored out for about 100 bux. The big question is, what to do you do about the old butterfly valve (or whatever it's called that opens and closes inside the TB)? I would assume you need a new one, but where do you get such a thing?

They put a new one in when they bore your tb ;)
