Ok well I thought those fukers would approve it but all they kept on talking about were modifications this and modifications that, its what comes out of the tailpipe that counts but that's not good enough for the damn EPA. They were really thorough they even checked under the car and crap. He kept on going I don't like this it's not STANDARD and it's MODIFIED. He said I need some stupid Carb EO numbers for all the modified parts and a approved modification list. Man I wanted him to approve the modifications. Anyway here's what he failed me in the visual basically all the turbo shiet:
*Return Catalyst to factory standard (he asked me where's the other cat? I'm like it only has 1 cat, a cat is a cat)
*He didn't like my little dump tube also failed me on that after I went to all the trouble to route it into the exhuast didn't give a crap about it. He said anything modified b4 the cat isn't legal.
*He didn't like my vacuum taps also for my BOV and stuff said that's gotta go.
*He wanted me to get a car number for my A/F ratio gauge or get rid of it. (WTF!? its not like it affects anything its just a gauge)
*He wants carb number for my turbo and intake. He wants stickers also. I don't think turbonetics has carb number for that crap.
*He didn't like my homemade crankcase breather port on my intake also, I spent the whole day yesterday looking for parts for that cuz I know they'd fail my catchan.

Well they did a sniffer test on it also failed that too some I'm royally screwed.
Idle RPM 863
%CO2= 14.5%
%02= 0.6%
Hydro carbon (PPM)= 178 (max=100 average=17) WOOHOO that killed it!
CO%= 0.25% (MAX= 1 average= 0.00) Passed this one
IDLE TEST= FAIL

2500 RPM test (2462 RPM)
%CO2= 14.2%
%02= 0.8%
Hydro carbon (PPM)= 54 (max=100 average=12) Whoa it passed this one
CO%= 0.72% (MAX= 1 average= 0.10) Passed this one too
2500 RPM Test= PASS

Well it's official I'm screwed. It's in the computer now too haha. They took like an hour to check all my crap too. They busted out some kinda CO detector and put it all over the place to see if there were any exhuast leaks. Looked at all my piping, fuel system. Even jacked up my car and checked the cat and downpipe. He even thought I was running NOS when he saw my EGT probe haha what am I gonna do put NAWZ in my exhuast manifold and blow my turbo up. Well he straight up did a thorough smog test he didn't approve anything seemed to run fine to me though. I get a free retest though :) so here is what I think my options are:

Put the stock shiet back on, it'll be very difficult cuz my exhuast has been modified. But if I put the stock exhuast manifold I'll have to take it to a muff shop (driving it open exhuast brrr O_o) and have em weld it together. Still i don't think it'll pass the sniffer the engine is dying. It'll probably cost a lot to do this them.

Register it as a non compliance vehicle, which give me like 2 more years to make it smog legal.

Pay someone $$$$ to make me pass, don't think this'll work now that I"m in teh comp now though :(

Call all the manufacturers and get EO carb number for all the modified parts bwahahah that'll be fun.

Say my car is out of state and give em an address where it is. Then they'll waive my smog and send a sticker to that address.

Register it as NONOP vehicle and not drive it. Might be the only option cuz I don't think it'll pass with the engine in the condition it's in right now and just start the rebuild

You only failed the sniffer at idle due to hydrocarbons - lean down your idle mixture.

As for the other stuff.. Hide it, remove it, do whatever you need to do. Personally, i'd have just shot the motherfucker. I'm so glad i don't live in Cali..

Have any family out of state? Register it anywhere but CA. I would even let you use my Addy to register it. AZ changed there emission testing this year, i drive in, they hook it up to their computer checking for codes, then do a visual. I was in and out within 20 minutes.

Pay for some "special" emissions testing. Then start ripping all that bull crap horsepower robbing emissions crap out of the car.

Any time i have been here, they just look under the car with a mirror and check for a cat and muffler, then put it on the dyno and sniff the tail pipe and your out... I just didnt want to deal w/ it or risk them being dicks like this, so i registered my car in a different county... pitty cali is so hard on that shit, cause stock cars suck ass.
