32999, Where is the Tranny Fill Plug?!?! Posted by zilch, Sep-17-02 11:26 PM
I was gettng ready to replace my very old tranny fluid with some new BG Syncroshift, but I was never able to find the drain and fill plugs on the 97 GS I have. Can anyone help me out with some info on what I need to do to find the drain and fill plugs properly for this tranny. Any info you can give me, would be much appreciated. Snag me on AIm as well.

there isnt one, you have to put a funnel in the tranny dipstick tube and fill that way

for an auto tranny you fill through the dipstick
for a manual the plug is on the side of the transmission, but it is easier to take the sensor off the top, use a funnel and fill it from there, but if it is a manual remember to use mopar MTX fluid and nothing else!

yeah, I saw the sensor on the top of the tranny, figured I may be able to do that, where is the drain thought? Was it the 2" bolt located near the bottom of the transmission, and pointing at the front bumper?
I know many people who are using BG Syncro in that transmissions, is there any particular reason you think it's a bad idea?

These transmissions have a bad track record when using anything other than factory fluid in them. They invariably end up failing, which is why we advise to use ONLY factory fluid formulated SPECIFICALLY for the NV-T350 transaxle.

i changed mine 2 days ago i had the same question. I found it the drain plug is the lowest bolt facing the left side of the car on the bottom of the tranny. The fill one is a little harder to find its farther up the tranny towards the drivers seat. Its plastic just pop it off. I worked a funnel with a little extention hose down there. if u jack up the front you can do it some people say to take off the front left tire but i didnt need to.
