anyone have a recomendation for a muffler that doesnt sound like a honda fart cannon? ive heard the dynomax and it sounds great...but its 300 bucks for a MUFFLER....which is a bit too steep:P suggestions would be nice , sounds would be great

Magnaflows sound good.

my greddy full cat-back has a nice deep tone to it. sounds good. sort of a drone on the highway at around 7o though, if that doesnt bother you and you dont mind spening the loot, its awesome.

I really like my greddy evo full cat-back. No honda fart cannon noise coming from it.

I don't think there is ANY muffler that makes our car sound as bad as a Honda. I've never heard an Eclipse that sounded bad anyway....

mine is deep.. and somewhat loud... and checp... I have the OBX "bomb" muffler.. just to last until i get my turbo on and then a full catback... :)

I love my Magnaflow and it was cheap too!! :)

Only probably is (as I'm sure with most) is before it warms up (the muffler) it sounds raspy and like its farting....kinda embarassing :D

But usually it warms up pretty quick.

...uhm...you can put pretty much any muffler on any cars stock piping and it wont sound very different from stock, so the last thing you have to worry about is raspyness. just yesterday we threw one of those HUGE hks bomb mufflers onto my friends stock 01 4cyl accord. it has a little bit of a deep sound when he gas's it now. thats the only change. (oh yeah and the 2hp he might have gained in the high end). you dont start getting loud until you have straight piping from the cat to the muffler, with nothing else in between. once those resonators are gone, and you get that bigger piping, then you will sound raspy. the joy of having a little 4cyl. until you go turbo of course.

what size is our stock piping?

^^^ yeah.. I had a 97' Plymouth breeze and I chopped the stock muffler off and put in an intermidiate pipe and a Monza slash cut tip on the end.. sounded awesome and cost 40 bucks.. I got many compliments on the sound.. but the car also had two factory resonators farther up the 'stream' so there wasn't any raspiness or anything.. especially since I was practically running three resonators! hehe (the monza tip was resonated).

Before I got my greddy evo, I had a Hayame muffler and we cut the resonators off of the stock piping. Now that was some deep loud ish. I wouldn't recommend doing that unless you love highway drone. It was fun setting everyones car alarm off though.

i had a 2.5 catback with flowmaster muffler and double tip and i kept the resonator on it sounds deep enough and it only bothers over 80 i've had some complements b/c is not another sound i also got a good deal 250 for everything and a muffler itself can go for that

would any of u guys w/ an EVO cat-back recommend putting an extra resonator on it, like a cherry bomb glasspack? i'm thinkin' of gettin' the turbo greddy EVO in anticipation of going turbo sometime soon, but i really don't want it to be too loud, just a nice deep tone.

BTW - where's the cheapest place to buy an EVO cat-back?

get str8 pipe instead of a resonator, and your car will be close to honda tone. I had that. Not anymore. Magnaflow rocks when used with a resonator.

so your suggesting not to get a resonator w/ an EVO?

The 3" Greddy Evo doesn't need a resonator. It sounds deep and has no raspiness. You won't be disappointed.
