yeah yeah, i used the search but i just want to double check somethings. first, if the o2 sensor is bad, gas milage will be down for one, but will performance not be at it's best also? and on my air/fuel gauge, would i not be going rich as much on the autometer gauge(meaning barely going into the green)? secondly, where should i get one from. the bosch's are still on back order, so would the satan be the main place to go? third, if i do go through a dealership, should i go through mitsubishi or dodge? thanks

i just got one from autozone.com (don't have one in my area), it was a bosch and i got it less than a week ( i bought the universal one also)

i need the upstream one i know it has four wires but will the bosch one have four wires or only three. i just want to make sure i get the right one.

if your o2 sensor goes bad the ECU guesses and shifts toward the 'rich' side. so you gas milage may be shitty but it souldn't really hurt performance it might slightly increase(not noticably) at least on a non turbo engine

yeah your performance would be drastically changed for it the o2 sensor goes bad and your check engine light comes on then your computer is setting itself on the lowest possible performance so you dont kill the motor, but still able to run. bosch is good or stock

You can get a stock o2 from a dodge dealer, its the cheapest i could find that was in stock, and the right one for that matter. Retail price was around 118 bucks or around there. I got a wholesale discount from my work, so i paid around 83 bucks for it. I had noticed that my fuel trims on the datalogger were not responding like they should have been, and the autometer a/f gauge wasnt cycling as fast as it had been before. With the new o2 in, while cruising in a gear, it cycles FAST back and forth, thats how it should be. When an o2 goes FULLY bad, the ECU goes back to its factory programmed fuel trim settings so the car can just run ok. It will run very rich, and you wont have much power at all. Your check enging light will be on also if its totally dead. Mine wasnt fully dead, so there was no CEL, but i noticed it from the datalogger, and the a/f gauge. It was starting to give false info, starting to go bad.

My o2 sensor (downpipe) is completely out and I have not noticed any ill effects other than MAYBE slightly lower fuel mileage... but we are talking 20-30 miles less on a tank of gas. When I had the a/f gauge hooked up it did cycle slower. But other than that the car runs fine, and have not noticed any decrease in power.
