32521, PT Turbo Internals Hype going the wrong way?

We all know that the rods and pistons for the new 2.4L PT-T(PT Crusier Turbo) would bolt-on into the 2.4L right? Thats a given..

But, are they as good as what the B. Stockum guy used, with the 2.5L turbo rods?

Didn't someone push well over 30 psi with the 2.5L rods, while the PT-T rods can do 20-25 psi.

So is the hype about getting the PT-T rods and pistons wrong, because you can run more boost with the 2.5L rods?

Just wondering...

Well here's what I know and it's not much:
The 2.5 rods are proven rods to like 30 psi. The PT-T rods are rated or 12psi but will prob do 20psi. At that point I'd be more worried about the piston going kaboom before the rod. The real deal (IMO) is if we can even use the pistons as they are with our head. I feel that if they do work w/ no interference, I will finally have a stroke of good luck going. If not, valve pockets will have to be cut into the pistons. Check out the pics on that website and look at the dome for the exhaust side. It's fine for the 2.4 heads since they go on backwards from ours, we might have probs b/c of our reversed head.

The hype was about the price of $200 for rods/pistons.

$185 gets your some t2 rods vs $200 for rods and pistons.

I know about the price..
But..

Why would you settle for some rods and pistons that would get you only at 20 psi?..

I'd pay the extra money, so I could run higher boost.

Even if I don't ever get over 20 psi, its nice to know you could still do it if you wanted to know, IMO.

But why all the hype besides prices? They MAY just become temp rods and pistons for people after they find out it can only do 20 psi, which is still alot BTW.

Just curious..

Personally, I'll be happy with 20 psi. I'm buying these because they are ghetto cheap at $150 for a set and I only plan to run 15 psi or so. I'm sure I'll be happy with the torque and power of a 15+ psi 2.4l. Personally, I'm only building a daily driver (not to race).
