In the other thread, I posted that there may be an interference issue with the pistons.

Here is the PT (00-03) piston. Notice the big dome. This is on the exhaust side of the PT motor, and the INTAKE side of your motor. Think your valves will hit it? Yes that piston is at TDC.



And here is the 95-99 Stratus/Caravan Piston, with a much smaller dome. Also at TDC.



I'm thinking that it would be wise to reverse the pistons in the bore prior to install. Anyone wanna help me figure this out?

i wouldn't use the stock pistons, myself, but it looks like it'd be damn close on the PT piston with the 2GNT head.. but it just might fit. Depending on any offset in those pistons (none measurable in the 2.0L pistons, probably none in the 2.4L) it may or may not be advisable to turn them around.

what affect would having the pistons on "backwards"? im just getting into this, and this is one of the things that occured to me earlier today at work.

wrong angle would be bad b/c the power transfer would be out of line and this in worst cases would destroy rods before the car could get out of the driveway. Most likely spin a bearing
