I get paid on Fri., and my friend at work will have the same days off as me (so I can get some rides to work)...well I decided last week to shop around for some exhaust, and found a shop to put on a 40 series Flow w/2.5" piping...for only $150...good deal?
I also would like to see pics of your guys exhaust and also could you tell me what size tip would look good...4" or whatever...thanx you guys are the bestest!!!

Thats a good price, i payed 75 for the 50 series muffler and another 40 for a dual 2.5" tip,(im not a huge single tip guy) I love the way it sounds, loud enough to set off car alarms in parking garages but not loud enough to wake up everything around you

I got just the muffler w/ tip I'll sell you CHEAP! I hacked off the rear section piping to weld on another muffler for my sister's GS. I thought the Flowmaster 40 series was pretty deep. Def no buzzing. Mail me if interested.

well, my friend has a 40 series that he said he'd give me if I can help him shave a few bucks off of buying some new tires and rims...I showed him www.whalentire.com, and he saved about $400 bucks (with the same exact rims that he wanted and a little bit better tires than he was going to buy), so the muffler is in my room right now...so that's about $70-$90 off the original price...now I need a tip.

The shop that is going to put it on, says I can have any tip that they have in their shop, or I can buy one and bring it in to them and they'll slap it on (but that will be some extra $$$ on my part, while their tip is included in this deal)...there's a 4" tip (single, not dual...which is what I'd like to go with) in there (nice and chrome) should I get that?

I'd like something that will produce a nice rumble when I step on the throttle (I used to have a modified 350 in a '69 El Camino with dual 40 series Flows...kinda' would like to get the same sound, but know it won't happen like I'd like it to :'( )

I can't believe they charge that much. On my old 87 300ZX, I bought a 40 Series Flowmaster from a shop called Clear Lake Speed for like $60, the $30 tip was a chrome 3.5", and it was all installed for only $40. Look around at different muffler shops.

this is true. Installation shouldn't cost you more than $20-$30, honestly. I had a test pipe put on and a GS-T muff installed for about $30. Lemmie know on the Flowmaster tho, I'm looking for a new sound.

i have a flowmaster but i don't know the series 2.5" cat back and i kept the resonator i like it a lot the str8 sound is so common
