I appreciate the smart ass answer..lol. But i do need a real answer. Im talking about long term piston damage, valves..anything like this? TIA

As long as you keep adequate oil in it, as well as other maintaince, you should be ok.. My fiance has an old 93 grand am, and it has had a leaky head gasket for 5 years or more, its not bad, maby a quart of oil every 3-4 weeks... and it has been fine, just never let it go low or you will starve a bearing...

Well, just be careful if the oil and coolant start mixing. Then you might run into some problems, as water and coolant are not as good of a lubricant as oil.

You could warp the cylinder head or block deck, then it will need to be milled "true" before repair. This is fairly common.

Oil and/or coolant could enter the combustion chamber and cause smoke from the exhaust, or worse, wash down the cylinder walls and damage the bore/rings.

Head gasket kits are cheap, and semi easy to do with the right tools, so I wouldn't run on it too long. But check your fluids weekly, and don't beat on it, and you should be ok
