I just have one question here..

Can you read? at all?

At what point did Bill say he he was the one telling people to use the 2.0L oil pan?

>I was at first told to use the stock 2GNT oil pan by
>the other guy who did the swap.

I happen to know who "the other guy" is. You don't. get your head out of your ass.

>he would send the crossmember for less then the
>price of the parts.

I like how you can make a buck selling something for less than it can be built. That makes a lot of sense.

These people have been here a lot longer than you have for you to be making claims like "I don’t think you are your friend even have done this swap. Both of you guys refuse to show pictures, and are wrong about a number a different aspects of this swap. Including fuel system, mounts, and etc. I think this is just a pitiful attempt to make us believe that you really have done this swap. I don’t know what the big deal is about being the first one to do this swap on an eclipse is. " when you really don't have a clue what you are talking about. This swap has already been done on a 2GNT. Nobody that is currently working on it will be "first."

So, as for any "lies" you have been told, don't blaim Bill, because obviously you can't read to make sense out of good (or bad) advice anyway.

So, to sum up what Bill stated, the person that originally did the swap would say that the 2.0 pan would work, but when the people doing the swap would find otherwise, he (not Bill) would sell them a pre-made crossmember at a discount to what it cost to make.

Bill then details how he is building his crossmember to clear the 2.4 oilpan.

You'd do well to listen to Bill, because he knows what he is talking about as he is doing this swap right now. He shares his information freely as he learns it, instead of flaming like a newbie when he finds out that something he had been told would not work.

I think you need to apologize, because you just made an ass of yourself in front of two forums, as well as rubbed me the wrong way by the sheer audacity of your accusations when (and many others) know better.

I did have some verbal diatribe here but no point to it.

Point of the matter is ....

1. Learn to read
2. Learn to understand what you just read
3. Don't talk smack about someone who's more helpful, truthful, and is leaps and bounds more knowledgeable, and experienced on working on 2gNTs than you are.

Now, go reread Bill's post. Oh and go apologize.

I had read this thread thinking I'd find intelligent info, before many of us including myself buy some cheap parts, but all I found was a waste of space. HeartofDarkness, I think you should just keep your mouth shut when you are lost, which is fairly obvious. I have used the info provided by Bill and value his repsonses to this board. I don't think I have to waste my time repeating what Dino just said. Please find your head, pull it out, and respond with intelligence before you accuse others on another board about something you are clearly lost about. Ask questions, fine; but don't assume knowledge you don't have.

I'll take the title as "2.4 GOD" around here ;) Thanks hehe.

Hehe, yeah, you can be the 2.4 God... for now. Muahahaha... :D I have some serious plans, though. I will be asking you for advice a lot, I think, JT. Thanks for all of the pics, they have helped me BIGTIME! And thanks for all of the support, guys, I try to keep a fairly low profile and stay out of the mud slinging, so it is kinda odd for someone to post such an angry response towards me. I don't honestly feel I deserve it. As I said, though, Heart of Darkness, if you have anything further to discuss, please let's take it off of the board, via e-mail or AIM, or even the phone.

Hey Bill! Please take a look at my post in the turbo section and tell me what you think. I'm not really sure if I can get the 2.4 to fit w/o alot of hassle, but I'm willing to give it a try. Please help!

>>Can you read? at all?
Yes I can, can you?

>>At what point did Bill say he he was the one telling people to use >>the 2.0L oil pan?
In a few posts on this board and an AIM chat, I saved it. The search feature isn’t working but here are a few lines from one of the chats. If you want me to post the whole thing, very long, I will. By the way I am “DaRealMuscle2g”.

NightRacingGod: yes it is
DaRealMuscle2g: i want to keep the A/C?
NightRacingGod: I would go with the 2.4 NA, and build it up
NightRacingGod: that isn't a problem
NightRacingGod: AC, PS, and Alternator are not a problem
NightRacingGod: you just need to use the 2.4L accessory brackets
NightRacingGod: and the 2.0L oil pan
NightRacingGod: which fit in our engine bay, but not the Neon's.
DaRealMuscle2g: I heard your need to used the ptcruzer brackets?know.

>>I happen to know who "the other guy" is. You don't. get your head >>out of your ass.
If your mean do I know is name, yes I do “Skrilla”. I don’t know him in real life, like you do. I was going to keep them nameless, “The1bill” respond in the neon forum.

>>I like how you can make a buck selling something for less than it >>can be built.that makes a lot of sense.
A lot of sense? You said? What? to lied to people and then try to con them? If he would have said, that he had a cross member for sell. That would have been fine, but instead he chooses to be dishonest. So if he didn’t lie for money, then why did he lie? If you honestly believe him, you are the one that needs to take your head out of your ass.

>>These people have been here a lot longer than you have for you to >>be making claims like….
>>when you really don't have a clue what you are talking about. This >>swap has already been done on a 2GNT.
>>Nobody that is currently working on it will be "first."
Your friend “claimed” skrilla and him were the first here. Nobody wants to be the first. Read my neon post. I just think everyone here deserves the right not to be lied to. Just because people spend all their time here, doesn’t mean that can lie just to make a buck.

>>So, as for any "lies" you have been told, don't blaim Bill, because >>obviously you can't read to make sense out
>>of good (or bad) advice anyway.
Again, read neon post, I research this before and after talking to skrilla and bill. I knew he was “misinformed” about some things. But, I didn’t think he was liar. He said, that him and skrilla, bolted this on that, and etc.

>>You'd do well to listen to Bill, because he knows what he is >>talking about as he is doing this swap right now. He shares his >>information freely as he learns it, instead of flaming like a >>newbie when he finds out that something he had been told would not >>work.
Yes, I doing this right now as well, and I my writing a “how I did it”, with pictures. People can said a whole bag full, but with out pictures to back them up, their words are worthless. When bill and skrilla were asked for pictures, bill said, “there is much of a difference”. I asked again, no response. By the way he flamed me first. I was Just trying to show people that are going to do the 2.4L swap, the truth.

>>I think you need to apologize, because you just made an ass of >>yourself in front >>of two forums, as well as rubbed me the wrong >>way by the sheer audacity of your accusations when (and many >>others) know better.
LOL, that’s some funny $h!T. Skrilla, the1bill, and you need to apologize. Frankly, I hate liars, Shrilla and bill need to apologize for trying to con everyone here. You need to apologize for making an ass of YOURSELF with your response. I, by the way, I don’t give a $h!t how I rub you. And I WILL stick up for myself.

>>3. Don't talk smack about someone who's more helpful, truthful, and >>is leaps and bounds more knowledgeable, and experienced on working >>on 2gNTs than you are.
LOL!!!! That’s also very funny. How in the hell do you know how “Experienced” I am? “Truthful”? He a liar!!, and a con!!

>>Oh and go apologize.
LOL!!!!Another person that should apolpgize themselves, be making asses of THEMSELVES.

>>Hehe, yeah, you can be the 2.4 God... for now. Muahahaha... I have >>some serious plans, though. I will be asking you for advice a lot, >>I think, JT. So what are you? Misinformed, or a liar and con, or all three?

32273, RE: Thinking about a 2.4L swap, look here..................

As I said in the Neon forum response, I was misinformed, as you were. I had no reason to doubt the information that was presented to me, and therefore had no problem passing it on to others. Shame on me for being wrong, yes, but did I try to lie to you or con you? Absolutely no way in hell. I am in fact trying to find a method that will allow minimal fabrication. And why would I try to get someone to buy a crossmember? I don't even make them. If I was in the crossmember business, wouldn't I have one for my car? Thought so. And the reason I didn't furnish pictures? I haven't finished my swap yet. I never said I was done. I said that I was working on it and that I had the 2.4 in my garage and the 2.0 in front of the car. By the way, I am taking pictures as I do this. Maybe I won't make a writeup now, as it seems that people can't keep track of what I say and mean. Another thing, be thankful that I am maintaining my composure. I could go off on this thread, but it is inappropriate for an online forum. Please, don't start drama, and, as I said, if you have further problems with me, contact me off of the board.
Thanks.

And another thing, I apologize for not connecting your name on the forum and your AIM SN. I have spoken to you, but I don't recall telling you that I finished the swap.

HeartofDarkness,

All of that was uncalled for. Why don't you keep your damn opinions about extremely knowledgeable and helpful people like Dino off this board and take it up with him not in public. You look like a total prick, I've read those posts and I don't see where Bill or Skrilla are trying to be cons. What are you trying to stir up?
32276, RE: Thinking about a 2.4L swap, look here..................

The1bill AIM me.
Bill and I are letting bygones be bygones. There was a misunderstanding. Bill was lied to by skrilla. So I retract my statements about bill being a liar and a con. As for the rest of the people who attack me, you attack me first. I was just point out a con, and I will continue to defend myself.

I'm glad you and Bill have decidd to work this over. He is not the kind of person who would intentionally decieve someone for profit.

I've seen Bill struggle tremendously with this swap. Hell I've helped him with it, although I can only say I've lent a helping hand as he has been doing the lion's share of the work. He does not have much time for this complex project, so the fact that he is trying to help others with it when he has so little time to figure things out himself says alot about the person. Next time don't be so quick to judge.

You pointed at the wrong person. This is the only reason i spoke up.

I am glad this is coming to an amiable solution between the two of you.

I met Bill and Todd (VX100) this past weekend and got to see Bill’s 2.4L swap in progress. I had been under the impression that it was a bolt on operation. But after talking with Bill for a few minutes I realized it wasn’t. He’s made a lot of progress, but him and HartOfDarkness are both in uncharted territory. I think there may have been some bad information passed around, but the swap seems doable. The only other person that has done the swap doesn’t seem to be on the board anymore.

Good luck to both of you guys on this project and hopefully there can be a free sharing of info for the benefit of both of you and those that would like to do the swap in the future. I know I’ll be keeping a tab on Bill’s progress and lending a hand when I can because I think this may be one of the best upgrades out there.

I need pics.

Gimme pics of alt, PS, and AC locations, as well as lower radiator hose location. Also the passenger side motor mount

I'll figure it out ;)

for anyone thinking it was a direct bolt up.. you got the wrong information... and bill is a good guy... always willing to help, and the only other person that i know of that gets less sleep than me.. he has gone through some rough times with the 2.4 swap so far, but he is persevering... good luck to you bro.. im going to get a hold of "the other guy" one way or another.. and ill keep you updated bro. good luck with the kit.. i just dont think that everyone that was wanting to do the swap knew exactly what was involved. bill has done nothing but offer his assistance and should not be slammed for incorrect information that he was given.
32282, RE: Thinking about a 2.4L swap, look here..................

I realize that it's not a direct bolt in motor, but I would like to contribute in an effort to make it much less complicated.

If anyone is near the Phoenix area, I'd like to compare engine mounts, etc with the Neon and see if something can be done (email me at dohctor@yahoo.com). I have connections ;) Billet swap mount kit anyone?

The 2.4 motor has it's quirks, as does the 2.0, but it's a much better motor to start a build up from. No replacement for displacement right? hehe.

There is one issue that definately needs to be addressed when it comes to 2.4s. The 95-99 2.4 Pistons are domed significantly on the exhaust side with valve reliefs for the intake valves. The 00-02 2.4 (PT) pistons have a GIANT dome on the exhaust side with intake valve reliefs. Since you guys would run this backwards, with your intake valves above the exhaust side of the piston, the 00-02 pistons MUST BE REVERSED! If not, you certainly lose the non-interference benefit of the 2.4, but you'd probably have some interference upon startup. That would ruin your day. This chance exists on the 95-99 pistons as well, but not nearly as close. If you have a milled head or high lift cams, you should worry.
