I have this thing with my car that somes days it rides really smooth and has lots of power and then some days it just doesn't wanna move as quick as it did when it was riding good. It's a 95 GS and like I said sometimes, it hauls, and then sometimes it feels like no matter how far down i step on the gas, it doesn't accelerate as quickly as it should. I know it's not just me that notices it. My brother says the same thing. Anyone have this problem? Are there certain Vacuum lines I should check or what. The car is turbo'd too but it's always been like that before and after turbo. Help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

spark plugs and spark plug wires could make all the difference...also change your airfilter

Well, I changed my plugs and plug wires and still have that hesitation while driving. Someone told me it could be the alternator. Can this be true? I mean the car is 7 years old now. Would that have an effect on the hesitation while accelerating and also my car starts sometimes and really good, and other times starts really slow almost to the point where it might not start at all and when it's hot, like after 30 minutes, won't start at all for at least 30 minutes or so. Strange DSMs!!!

if your climate is changing alot that'll make big differences.. like going from a hot and humid day to a cool and dry day will make a world of difference in your cars performance.

Well the starting thing is not to good I would check your starter because it may be close to dead. If you have a star kit remember you have your dump tube aiming right at your starter. As for the off and on performance I don't know what to tell you, But I had a bucking acceleration espically after I would start it and go for the first time of the day. I then removed the EGR valve and have no problems since then.

Change your fuel filter lately?

k, thanks for the replies. The starter is new. The weather is consistently hot and humid, basically it's always that way and I do still have my egr on, so that will be the next thing removed. But what about this. I use my turn signals and as it blinks, the cel kindof blinks with the signal light among a few other lights in the car. Does that mean i'm not getting enought juice to where it needs to go? The mirror lights when i turned them on and my blinkers, it blinks also. The battery is new and i charged it up just to make sure but i does the same thing.

what?? sounds like you have some funky wiring problem maybe a short somewhere with the blinkers etc..

hesitation may mean u need to change ur coil pack.

The electronic problem maybe the problem with accleration but I highly doubt it. Also your alternator would have nothing to do with that. Lets face it, your driving a 95. (no offence, I only drive a 96) No matter what you are going to find problems. Check how you drive as well. Beating your car by seeing how fast you can get from 0-60 after every stop sign or stop light isn't going to make it run any better. If you've replaced every filter and plug you can think of, maybe its time to face the facts-- your car is 7 years old. Without some internal work on your engine then its going to behave like an engine that is 7 years old. Treat your engine good and it will do the same in return. Good luck with her.

FYI, my CEL and a buddies in my car club does the exact same thing so I think that may just be common with our cars, I wouldnt worry about it

No one has said the obvious reason. Im having the same exact problem, but im not turboed...its your head gasket

Again, thanks for the replies, but just to let you know the car has been rebuilt, the fuel filter changed several times already, and as for headgaskets, I had it replaced several times cuz someone said the same thing about it but it still doesn't solve the problem. So, I came to the conclusion it's not the motor, not the headgasket, not the fuel filter etc. Has to be something electronics related. Even with a new ECU it does this, so it's somewhere else that I have yet to pin point. And has anyone noticed that i'm not the only 95 that has these strange problems!!! Damn these 95's!!!!!!

I have a 95 and tried all those things including making all my grounds and conecting points gold, fuel filter always helps, and plug and wires i change all the time cause its easy and cheap always happens around 3500-4600 rpms, I think it may have to do with the spark voltage

so how can I get more voltage? Lots of people say something about a voltage regulator. Where and how, anyone??

have you checked to see if your battery is grounding out when you use these accessories. you may have a short somewhere in your electronics that is starving you engine from the electricity it needs. DC electronics is weird like that, one small short in a system can effect some items and not others. second thing is the engine grounded? check everything you will need a multi-meter if you dont already analog is good but a good digital will be more efficient. people always think about internals, and add ons, but if there wires are shot all of it was wasted.
