31749, Much Praise to Autometer, they take car of their customers!

Well, as many of you know they recalled the 4309 ultralight electric 90 degree sweep gauge due to the sender's incompatibility with gasoline. They sent me a new FULL SWEEP electric gauge to replace it for free, then this past week I noticed that the fuel pressure wouldn't move, and when it did it was very jumpy, so, I called them up this morning to see if they knew of any similar problems with this unit, and they said that they had not had any, but if the gauge is working and then it was probably the sender. So I asked if I could buy a new sender from them, and they said no, but we can send you one for free! and I was like okay that would be great, so they took my address and are sending me one as we speak. so to make a long story short, Automerer is a world class company with world class Customer service!

Autometer sent me an all new IAT gauge, box, and set fo probes when mine broke. All I sent them back was the gauge and box.

Yup, when I broke the tap fitting for my EGT probe they just sent me a whole new probe along with the fittings. Well... my former EGT probe and gauge anyway (thanks Jeff)

They have replaced almost every gauge I have at one time or another... I guess i am too rough with them, lol.. but ward @ autometer has always done me right, never charged me a dime, and usually send brand new plastic wrapped gauges when all i wanted was it repaired.

That's great to hear they take care of their customers, but doesn't it seem like a lot of you have had problems with their gauges/senders? Are they not good quality?

I think it is just normal wear and tear. A lot of peeps use gauges on their daily drivers now and IN MY OPINION this is not what they are designed for. They are designed to live their life a quarter mile at a time (and for that ten seconds or less, they are free :rolleyes )

The beauty of mechanical gauges, I donn't have a sender to break. And haven't had a problem.

Hell the Mechanical gauges react more quickly and are more accurate, I hope they don't go away.
