3167, ALL GUYS STAGE 2 and +
Posted by SHOGUN98RS, Jun-11-01 04:46 AM
just wanted to know which racing clutches do u guys have on. want one that will hold a stage 2 and maybe a lil. more than that. how about a short shifter too, which ones? want to go ahead and get it so when they put in the manual just give them the new parts too.

I think a lot of the turbo guys who have upgraded clutches are using Clutchmaster Stage 4. A lot are still on stock clutch too I think.

For a Short shifter B&M all the way.

...stick with the stocker till it gives out. I've been turbo'ed over 12 thousand miles and that stock clutch still grabs GREAT!

I still easily grab and chirp into second and almost third. I didn't even know what a bad clutch was until I recently bought a GS-T for my brother. The day after we bought it, we had to take it back into the dealership for a clutch that slipped so bad, we couldn't even engage into first gear. I still feel bad about it because when I test drove it, I merely thought the clutch had a "different" feel about it. Obviously, that shitty mitsu clutch was terrible.

Back to the topic though. At least the clutch that came with my car has performed superb for me, and there hasn't been a single inidcator that's it's beginning to wear. If this one ever goes, and I am still at similar power levels as now, I think I'd almost lean on buying a stock clutch again.

OK i have a question... since i've never had a car long enough to have to replace a clutch, how do i know when i need to or what does slipping feel like because i think there's something wrong with my clutch i have 60K on original clutch. 96 GS.
and if i do have to replace can anyone recommend a clutch that would work besides the stock dealer garbage. i'm not into the speed thing so it doesn't have to be super-high performance..
