Ok yesterday we got the motors swapped and the new one bolted in. Today we got all the wiring hooked up but we spent most of the day trying to get the axles back in. What I need to know is the green thing supposed to be all the way in and touching the tranny? We spent hours on the and even used a wedge and a 20 pound sledge to try and get those things in. They popped in but there is still about 1/4" of metal showing between the green thing and tranny. It will not go any farther. I really can't remember how it was before I took them off. The wheel end of the axle is in and the suspension is bolted back up. When we have the motor running the axles spin really slow while in neutral. Remember we are still on jackstands. So to sum it up I need to know if the spinning is ok and if the axles are in all the way. If they aren't then how in the hell do I get them in? Thanks for any help.

the axles will spin when in neutral and both wheels are off the ground. And the green part won't go all the way into the tranny. All you need to do is have someone spin the axle while you jiggle and try to push it all the way in and it will go in all the way. sounds like to me that they are in all the way already though.

sounds like your having fun getting everything back together. I just got done pulling my tranny again. Looks like my car is down for another couple days.

also.... put some tranny fluid in and see if you leak out at all where they go into the tranny.

I'm almost 100% sure there is no fluid leaking. I'll double check this evening though.

Yep, its all the way in. When Matt_95tgs and I put his tranny back in, the same happened to us. We had about 1/4" of metal left before the green part, wouldnt go in any farther. Thats how it is supposed to be...

Yeah sounds like they are in to me. If you are in douibt pop them back out and push them in until you hear the click of the ring locking in place. But I wouldn't worry.
