3151, AEM UDP For the 95-99 Eclipse NT ? Please Read.. Posted by Lbcgear, Jun-11-01 04:18 AM
I just got off the phone with R&D at AEM and was talking to them about a 30% Underdriven UDP for the NT Eclipse 95-99 He said that if we can get enough people to show public intrest that AEM would be more then happy to make a set for retail sale.
Here is what you need to do send a E-mail to
tec@aempower.com
and tell them you would like to see a under drive pully for the 95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse/Talon Non-Turbo.
I am going to call back in a week and see what happened with the e-mails and see if they got enough to make it happen. I do not know about you guys and gals but I think AEM makes some real good stuff. If they make some for us Ill be sure to get a group buy going ASAP :)
BTW: He also informed me that they are working on a Big brake kit for us owners with Drums in the back that will make the front disk better and convert the rear drums to disk.
If you E-mail them please post here so I can have a idea of how many ppl are intrested in this idea.
Thanks Shaun Frank

I would, but AF/X already has a great pulley and I don't forsee AEM making a better one. And the drums to disc thing is nice, but people have been doing that for a while now.
I'd like to see some more go fast stuff from aem, like maybe an intake manifold?

I know the stock ones don't weigh much but lightened alternator and power steering puleys would be nice. Not any smalle stock size is good with the 30% underive of my AFX I wouldn't want to go any smaller, but lightened pulleys would be nice.

3159, Better to call em "Power Pulleys" Posted by juan, Jun-11-01 08:01 AM
AEM did some measurements on my car for these parts last time I was there. Note that these are different alternator/PS pulleys that accomplish most of the same goal as the standard underdrive pulley on the crankshaft, with the exception of reducing rotational mass on the crankshaft.
For those that have doubts about any long term side effect from aftermarket underdrive pulleys, these will be an effective alternative. I personally am more interested in these, and am glad to hear that AEM is moving forward with marketing Power Pulleys for our application. I've basically been pushing for them for the past 6 months or so.
Will let you know as I get updated...

Oh oh I want a new tensioner pulley for my Accessory driver. Mine is worn out and squeeking like hell, if I can get an after market one that more durable and lighter I"ll go for it! :) Perhaps lightened Accesory and alternator pulleys would be nice also. The tensioner pulley isn't too hard to install either, just nuts and bolts. :)

Can someone clarify to me? Are they going to make the same part as the AFX UD Pulley, or is it a different part? Could I possibly use both pulley? Thanks.

I'm all for a part rather then the UDP, ... isnt the tensioner like a $300 part from then factory?
Anyway, UI would like lightened aftermarket pulleys for my ride also, so tell me exactly what I should say to the man.
BTW lightening these pulleys adds more hp, right?

Um someone said that the stock pulleys dont weigh much compared to the UDP from howell/afx....are you on crack? Hold the OEM one in one hand, and the AFX on the other, and tell me they dont weigh a ton different...
Sent an email to aem...i always have liked their stuff...good quality stuff.
