i'm gonna need a new headgasket soon (tech showed me some leakage), and i'm just wondering if anyone knows of any decent aftermarket ones offhand. i can go for one with stock specs, but what about any other ones that will actually make the compression more hrc friendly? what about some that will just be nice for street driving and perhaps a cai? is it possible to get a gasket that will appeal to both?

once again, thanks in advance for any tips and stuff.

Well the one everybody uses is the new factory MLS HG. I don't think anyone has really gone with after market yet. As for more HRC friendly I think the MLS is about as good as it gets. I don't think there are many thinner gaskets outthere. Thinning the HG lowers compression a larger HG raises it. So in closing I would say IMO get the stock MLS HG.

Actually, it's the other way around. Running a thinner than normal head gasket would *Raise* the compression ratio, and running a thicker than stock head gasket would *LOWER* it.

Correct.

My opinion on aftermarket headgaskets is simple: they're all crap. Use the factory revised headgasket and you'll be fine. Use new head bolts, or move up and get some ARP studs.

i aggree with everyone else on that the stock head gasket will work best. from what i have seen, roadraceengineering.com has aftermarket ones but i don't know if they are for our cars or the 4g63 engines. plus for $200, i would rather get the factory metal one

rre headgaskets are for the 4g63 engines...
