Okay, I've seen that several people on here have this mysterious "Corbin Intake Spacer"...I'm guessing that Corbin made these but I did a search on it and I can't find anything about it other than it being listed in a couple people's mods.

What's up with this thing? I'm new here (relatively) so sorry if this is a repeat. Thanks!

Well I haven't been around long enough to know for sure but I guess Corbin used to produce them. They go between the upper and lower intake manifold and are made of a plexiglass type of material (phenolic I think). Its supposed to cool the air as it enters the cylinders is what I have read. I got mine from our FS board from a guy that never got around to installing it. As far as gains and such I can't tell you because i put mine on with the bored TB and polished intake. I don't think you can get them anymore unless you get lucky like I did...

I actually have 2 left. I don't feel like messing with them anymore, so I'll let them go AT COST. Thats $55 shipped to your door. Comes with hardware and instructions.

Thank you for your quick response. I will be purchasing one shortly (within the week).

How much time and technical skill does it take to do this? I'm not a retard, but I'm no mechanic either...and I do have friends to help.

You do have to pull off the upper intake manifold and unhook everything connected to it. I think it took me 40 minutes take everything apart 45 minutes to put it all back together. There is nothing complicated about the install; it just takes time.

The hardest part of the install was getting the EGR tube reconnected. We ended up having to take the tube off, bend it a bit, then reinstall it. That thing is STRONG! Other than that its cake.

You should have blocked it and dropped it out altogether man ;)

I thought about that but I didn't want to deal with the check engine light and I wasn't prepared to block it off. This being my daily driver I couldn't just leave it off to go and get the stuff to block it. I probably will eventually.

"As far as gains and such I can't tell you because i put mine on with the bored TB and polished intake."

I did notice a nice gain but not sure where it came from since I installed it all at once.
