headers will help slightly.. but just to be realistic.. the kind of jump im sure you want in engine power and torque will only come from using forced induction..

sorry i didnt mean to be so vague on my reply.. forced induction was my way of saying both nitrous and turbo.. cause both allow more air to be forced into the engine to create more power. neways. just be sure to read, search and research both methods of power adders and make some decisions from there. and obviously, dont be afraid to ask questions, just try your best to read up and study what you have a quesiton about or concerning before asking if possible.

correct me if i'm wrong... but wouldn't headers reduce backpressure and make you actually LOSE torque? might as well go the extra few yards and throw on a catback to get some decent gains.

at any rate, i heard leaf blowers make good superchargers ;) and you probably get at least 3 settings.

from my understanding and general rule of thumb from what ive seen and read, headers will increase low end torque but sometimes reduce high end power. it may not increase the overal power output of the engine, but will allow you to feel the power quicker for those stoplight to stoplight type races. from what i hear its not a huge improvement over stock in our cars and some people recomend it and some dont.

as far as exhaust goes.. from mainly my experience.. stay with the stock sized piping and just get a less restrictive muffler for n/a purposes.. 2.5in piping is almost too big for staying n/a unless there are other engine mods to sustain the loss of low end power due to the larger piping.

A header doesn't really give you a "gain" so to speak, but it shifts the powerband either up or down, depending on which type you get. A 4-1 Header shifts it up, for me it made my car pull all the way to redline as oppose to hitting a wall at 6k previously. A 4-2-1 will give you a little more torque, but not so much at the top end. If you are going nitrous a header is a good idea, they just flow better.
