Well I havent flushed the radiator yet. I am going to have it done at a shop where my friend works. They pressurize it and clean it out really good. I have noticed that it only boils over when I am finished making hard pulls at 15 psi in third and 4th gear. It is fine at idle. I find this kinda weird. And after it has boiled over it leaves a nasty residue in the tank that is green and slimy. Looks like the water and coolant are really dirty. Tomorrow as soon as I get it flushed really good I am going to make some highway pulls and see what happens. I'll keep ya posted.

I was heating up from 15psi on up on hard 3rd and 4th gear runs, fluidyne solved all my woes though.

the green slomy substance is probably just the "substance" of the anti-freeze after all of the pure h2o has evaporated. i wouldn't worry about that, it's normal if it's fully evaporating.

Yeah fluidine would be nice but I cant afford it right now.

hey dave, hope it does not overheat anymore.. but if it does start thinking about upgrading your cooling system...i would invest in the fluidye when you got the money..it wont hurt..hell if you extra cash throw some better fans on... remember heat (stock radiator) with 15psi+ (hard pulls) will equal problems...in other word say bye bye to nice motor sooner then expected...one of my friends is going to uti (autmotive school) in ca, and there is somoene with a turboed 420a eclipse there built i heard, and he is always overheating running HIGH boost, the dum ass did not know what to do...to make a long story short got new fans and radiator and no more overheating... =).. i know how tight you can be on money, i am now...

Hey Dave this is prolly a dumb question, but do you have an aftermarket rad hose your car? The only reason I ask is because when I first turbo'd mine I put on one of those Rad/Hoz things. My car did the same exact things as yours. I replaced the hose with a stock unit and a 160 thermostat and now I have never had the problem again. Maybe it will help, maybe it won't. Good luck either way.

Dave, you are having the EXACT same problem I've been dealing with from over a month now! It sucks, let me tell you that. I can boost the piss out of my car in first, second, and a bit of third gear no problem....but if I ride out third and get into fourth at all, it overheats. My fluidyne will be here in a couple days, I'll let you know what happens. If the fluidyne doesn't fix it, I think my headgasket is my problem(see my other response in turbo section).

Well I just put on a new MLS headgasket when it got rebuilt so I doubt it could be that.

Thats what I thought as well, but you never know with a car as heavily modded as ours....shit happens. I'll keep you updated as to what happens when I put the Fluidyne in....
