ok ive done all the little bolt ons i want to do im saving up for the turbo, what do i need to do in preperation for the turbo. tell me everything i need to do/know.

Well it depends on how far you want to go. If you want to go over 275 horsepower you need to rebuild the bottom end with some forged internals. Also I would recommend getting a strong aftermarket clutch, and some upgraded motor mounts if you dont already have those. Also you will need at least a 2.5" to 3" exhaust. Upgrade the suspension and brakes. Also replace any stock items like axles and things that look like the boots may be dryrotted and what not. You dont want all that extra power and the damn axles let go on you.

Really upgrade any part that will be directly involved with the power increase. However the trannies in our cars seem to hold up well to the power. I have been learning about the NT trannies now that I have the motor down pat, and I am really impressed with the punishment that they can handle from 300 plus hp.

ok thanks i know i need to change the boots on the cv joints,and get the strut bars,maybe slotted roters but is there any thing else that i absoutly have to do befor the turbo . i will prob use a stage 1 or 2. thanks again i will deffentyl look into all the points you gave ^^.

The best thing to do is put in a bottom end kit or a short block that is built for a turbo. The ones that we sell are good to 500 hp total, you don't have to goto 500 hp, but it gives you a margin of safety that you don't have with the stock bottom end.

will the 420a hold up i dont have the money for both. is it going to hurt it with only a stage 1 or 2. i have 80000 miles on this moter and hopefully by the time the turbo blows it if it does i will then do the short block. is this a good idea

The 420A will hold alot provided you don't make a mistake on the fuel. You can run 15+ on a stock bottom end, as long as you have the fuel rich enough. The thing is, if you lean it out under high boost the stock cast piston is gone, the forged bottom end will give you a margin of error, but it too can go under high boost. Is about 30 psi on a forged piston with not enough fuel.
