30906, short ram problem??
Posted by skid13, Aug-24-02 05:48 AM
Hey, I got my car about a month and a half ago.. My father wanted me to make some hefty payments on it before I really startin doin any sort of modding.. So instead of spendin $200 for a cai, I just got a ebay short ram for 40 w/ shipping.. After gettin it on and tightenin everything down, also made sure no leaks, The car ran pretty damn good, I mean I don't know if I felt a performance difference but sound wise it was cool... The past week though it's felt like I lost my bottem end from like 1,000rpm to maybe 2,000? I was thinkin it was gas, cause the place I got it from seems to have shitty gas.. I ran the tank down then filled up w/ sunoco 94 and put a bottle of Fuel Injector cleaner in.. But the car still doesn't seem to have the pep on the bottom end... I was just wonderin if anyone else had problems w/ maybe that intake? or whatelse could possibly be the culpret? Thanks a bunch

I had the same problem w/ my ebay intake. at up to 2,000 rpms it ran like shit and even stutered some times. I got an aem cai and a breather filter and it went away. one thing i noticed is that the tube that comes off of the valve cover to the intake leaked oil into my intake and then to my throttle body. I would recommend getting an aem cai and instead of running that tube to your intake put a breather filter on the thing comming off of the valve cover and also when installing the cai use some throttle body cleaner on your tb. The cai made a big difference.

You may what to changing your fuel filter first. Could be something as simple as that.
