3080, Air bypass valve Posted by TalonESi, Jun-10-01 06:53 AM
I want to buy an AEM cold air intake. Should I spend the extra $40 for the air bypass valve?? Am I taking a big risk by not getting one? Thanks, Jeff

That depends, where do you live??? Does it rain a lot??? the Air Bypass Valve is so if you drive through a puddle and your filter gets submerged, it won't suck up water into your engine. If you think you will come up to this situation, then get it. If not...then don't.

How does the Bypass valve actually work.. is there anything on line or can someone explain.. I mean once the water is in the tube how does the bypass trap the water.. wouldn't the water just be sucked up along with the air?
