30217, HELP, how do you hook up the stutter on the crane.

I have the new Crane ignition. The one that comes in colors and doesn't need the tach adapters. The one that costs 600.00...that one.

Anyway.

It has two rev limiters built into the box. I only want to run one of them as a stutter to help build boost on the line. Each staged limiter only has one wire off the box. One for the stage 1 rev limiter and one for the stage 2 rev limiter. On the wiring schematic it says the stage 1 wire goes to "normally open stage 1 rev limit select switch" then to a +12v

So does this mean that I need to hook up an on/off switch and then go to a +12v wire. And does this +12v need to be a switched 12v wire?

HELP ME PLEASE. I am a retard when it comes to wiring. I blew up a DFI and I fried a 02 recently. I don't want to blow my Crane.

You're on the right track. I put a momentary toggle switch under my radio that I can hit while at the line in first gear. When the lights go, I just let go of the switch. Use a switched 12v source and have the switch supply the 12v signal to the Crane box.

As long as the box sees a positive 12 volts it will hold the rev limiter. So wether you want to wire to a toggle or momentary switch is up to you. Just positive 12 v is all the box cares about.

Thanks guys, it seems pretty straightforward but I just needed a gut check because I am real good at frying things. :-)

He wants to use the 1 step to stage with, so there has to be a switch of some kind. 3500rpm limit was too low last time I was at the track, I'll be trying 4500 next time out.
