Well I live in Ga. and it is pretty hot today, I was letting my car warm up and had a phone call so it sat running for about 25 minutes in the driveway.
I went out and drove it but when I got home as I was pulling back in I noticed a big puddle where the car WAS parked.
I looked down and the temp gauge was up there...
so I parked it turned it off and looked under the hood, my over flow tank was flowing out of the top of it, there was a lot too.
It was all coming out of the over flow tank nowhere else.
I am wondering if it was just because it got hot from the FMICand being hot outside or if it is because of my thermostat or something.
This is the first time since the rebuild any type of over heating or fluid on the ground...
What could it be, I want to get it fixed whatever it is because Hot Import Nights is here in ATL. I want to do some crusing around Atlanta.

I have no idea about your coolant problem. But what part of GA are you in? I'm a Brunswick guy here. Just got on the other day.

Your car was idling for too long. Most people and owners manuals will tell you not to let it idle for more than 15 mins. This will happen to lots of cars, and is normal when letting it sit for so long.

I left my car diling for 3 hours once ay my work. It didnt get hot at all. It should be able to idle untill the gas runs out without getting hot. When you have overheating problems start by looking at the little things first. Change the pressure cap and the thermostat and flush the system out. Then it should be OK.

^yup. should idle till gas is gone without problem. Never heard of a car heating up b/c it idled too long.

If the radiator cap spring is getting weak or the cap is not sealing properly, it will release pressure and not allow it to build to the cap psi setting. This will cause it to fill the overflow continuously when the thermostat opens up.

If you have a good 50/50 mix of coolant/water, I would change the radiator cap first. Any parts store will carry one. I got a GS-T cap from Satan and the spring is rated for a higher psi. Only do this if you have good coolant, otherwise you could blow a hose.

When you car warms up, make sure the left fan comes on automatically. It should intermittently come on and then shut off when your car idles for a period of time. The right fan will come on when you turn your AC on.

Many people are having overheating problems and it is mostly their OWN fault. They need to tune up their cars now and then. This will most likely fix these problems.

I'm pretty sure you left your air conditioner on. If toy did, I had the same problem and the dealer told me that is prety normal for the overflow tank to leak out antifreeze... I don't know maybe they were shitting me?
