I've given up on finding a gst muffler, so I'm looking into an aftermarket muffler now. I've heard a lot about aftermarket mufflers causing you to loose lower end, is this true, and if so what mufflers cause you to loose the least if any? Tnanks

Ive got an Apexi N1.....although its a catback, im sure that you will like it even if u buy just the muffler...It looks good and sounds good. as far as a loss in low end....my GS never had any anyway. Warning though, it hangs low under your car so if you are lowered u might want to reconsider this option.

I have the GReddy EVO. It's a cat-back too but I think it is well worth the money. I didn't really notice that big of a drop in low-end but then again, I put the turbo on a couple of weeks after I put on the exhaust. It looks good, sounds good and if you are lowered, it doesn't hang down like a lot of the other mufflers around. Before the GReddy, I had a Hayame muffler on the stock piping. It was f'ing loud and I drug it around all over the road because it hung so much lower.

Hey man, I have a OBX B3 muffler, and it comes wiht a silencer, with it in it sounds really close to stcok, with it out its really deep, I have it on stock pipes, and it sounds really good if you wanna go with a cheaper one, and it looks really good too, kinda like an N1

If you want to save low end, try getting a muff that isn't a straight through design. Something that has the same shape as the stock muffler, that you can't look through. You need more backpressure for midrange torque, and the straight through design doesn't produce much backpressure. On the other hand, you won't have as much top end as the straight through design, so it's your choice.

Hey have you tried asking socal dsm for a gs-t muffler? I got mine for 35 bucks but it had to be welded on because the piping was cutoff by the previous owner. Sometimes RRE has em for 25 bucks if they have any laying around.

Thanks everyone, now I've got an idea of what to look for. I've tried everything except RRE, think I'll give them a call or email, if not then its a'shopin I go.

lol, $125? i got my gs-t muffler for $40 shipped, and it's damn near perfect.

just post on dsmtrader.com in the wanted section, i got about 10 responces in 2-3 days. you'll find one for under $50.
