I am freakin in love with the blow off valve. My question is (since I have an auto) if i went turbo, would i be able to show my blow off valve to people at a stand still, you know the sound. Or am I going to look dumb. (click) neutral (click) pssss (click) and I drive away. I know I should have got a manual but I must face facts. Need some input..

When you are gunning it, NO, you will not be able to hear the BOV even when the tranny shifts. It is because us AT guys don't have to let go of the gas to shift, thus, the throttle plate doesn't close. Compared to a MT where they have to lift to shift, it closes the throttle plate for a split second and all that air have no where to go, it escapes in the BOV. On the AT, you can rev it in neutral or park and hear it go off. Also during cruising, if you mash the pedal (build boost), then let go of it, you'll hear it that way too.

Two things good about boosted AT's is that you rarely have traction problems, and you don't loose boost when it shifts.

i have a gst auto.

the bov goes off any time you quickly let off the gas. doesnt matter if your in nutural or gear. so yes you can do it at a light, but you have to get the rpms higher than you would when driving, but it works. I do it all the time. and i dont care if they think its strange to put in neutral, they will have plenty of time to think about that while im blowin off my BOV 2-3 car lengths ahead of them!

hehe
