i have read up on this topic for some while and i have almost decided to do it but i have a question that hasnt been addressed yet. Could this modification in any way cause damage to my transmission? and if it can how? the reason i am asking is that the transmission went out on my car at around 40,000 miles and i want faster acceleraton but i dont want to cause any harm to my transmission

The only thing is that your tranny will be reving higher than it was before at a certain speed, so before if you were going 30 your rpms would be 2.5k now they will be like 3k. If you dont have a tranny cooler get one first, then you sholdnt have to worry about it at all.

I love it by the way, I did mine like last weekend and I love it, I get a kick out of the way I can peel the tires from a stop now with little or no effort, makes me giggle :)

what exactly is a tranny cooler, where can i get one, if i can perfrom the final drive gear mod myself,will i be able to install a tranny cooler? how much is one, i tried a search and had no luck. A link to one made for 2gnt would be appreciated. TIA!!

there is an example, and as for the install, its a piece of cake, the hardest part is finding somewhere to mount it
but what you do is just put it inline either before or after the stock tranny cooler. There are two rubber hoses coming from the tranny, just place it inline on one of those hoses, I even noticed a little better shifting after that

hmm, what exactly are the preformance gains with the gear mod?

i read about the installation the other day too... the end clutch and final gear. and is a tranny cooler necessary with it?
