29524, MAS on the 95 RS
Posted by aperfecthaven, Aug-05-02 07:43 AM
i just bought a 95 RS that was a theft recovery, and one of the things they jacked was the intake. one of the times i went to satan and they checked on the comp for the whole intakepiece and they said it might not have a mass air flow sensor cause the part number for it wouldnt turn up anywhere. im still learning about engines, but i know that its kind of funny if a car from 1995 especially an eclipse doesnt have an MAS. i figured i would ask you guys since your all experts in this. thanks.

None of the 420a/s (or RS's for that matter) have a MAS system for measuring air. And thank God for that. Who wants some restrictive flap/honeycomb thing for measuring your air?!

All 420a's have MAP sensors. It's sitting on the far end at the top of your intake plenum(on the passenger side) It's just a small little non-invasive measuring probe that, IMO, is far advanced over a MAS/MAF.

Yup - What he said ^^^^^^

Only the Eclipse Spyder GS and GS-T has the MAS.

The Eclipse Spyder GS is a 4G64 2.4L SOHC engine and the Eclipse Spyder GS-T has the 2.0L Turbo Engine and both have the MAS.

BUMP!!
