it's been a while since I posted I know. how are you guys doing anyways?

ok here is my problem, my car seems to vibrate madly going 80mph or more.

I did rebalance the wheels and that did not help at all.

I am thinking it's either engine mounts (even tho I am sure the front and rear ones are good) not sure about the side ones tho.

that or could it be my axles !

the funny thing is, this happens only while I am stepping on the gas, if I am going like 90 mph the car shakes like hell, but that soons goes away as soon as I let go of the gas or step on the clutch.

could it be the tranny?

what u guys think.

I hate it since I have no way of getting parts for my baby here, the only way for me is to order whatever I need from the US ( I live in the UAE which is in the middle east for those of you who don't know )

so I wanna make sure I get what the car really needs.

to sum the problem, if I go 70 mph things seem ok, but as soon as I hit 80 mph the car vibrates madly and that goes away if I let go of the gas (tells me there is no problem with the wheels being off balance)

any thoughts?

when you say it shakes do you mean vibrates or jerks?

i know you balanced your tires, but have you tried with different tires? this because i have 14" and 17" with my 14" even tough they are balanced, the shake a lot past 85 MPH, with my 17" smooth riding all the way to 120, if you have a way of changing rims+tires, Do it.

Check your inner CV joint. I've heard of that going and causing all sorts of odd vibrations - but only while on the gas.

when i had 14's mine would shake to round 80. put on dem 18's and its all good now

yeah the car vibrates going above 85 mph and only with my foot on the gas. so Darkoe, you think it's a bad CV joint. I tried to look at the boots and they looked fine, but won't they vibrate even with my foot off the gas, since they still move even Axles that is ??

have you guys heared of that same problem caused by the CV joints going bad (happens only with foot on the gas)

have you aligned it? i know it usually shifts left/right when misaligned but aligning did take care of my vibration problems before.
or maybe its the tires

I was for a long time a service manager for a shop that dealt with alot of imports, and I can promise you it isn't the tires. If a tire is out of balance it will shake weather you are on the throttle or not, it has to be in one or both of your cv shafts like dino said. What has most likely happened is the cv boots don't have any way of greeasing them unless you put a small pin hole in them, but you don't want to do that or the high spinning velocity wil spray the grease everywhere. The only downside you have now is to figure out which one it is. Try turning at a slow speed from right to left(preferably in a parking lot) and listen for a clcking noise. If you hear it from either side, that is your bad cv shaft. If not, the only other way to find out is unfortunatly to remve the shaft and then the boot and replace whichever joint has play in it. With the time this takes, you might want to just replace the shafts anyways, as this will save you headache in the long run. Hit me back if you have any questions.

Hey Adel, been a while, hope all is well over there.

You can check the CV with the car up on jack stands. grab the axle and turn it and look for excess play in the joint. I've had odd vibrations from alignment issues. Also the balancing on your tires may not be accurate enough. Some machines don't do as well as others. I had this problem on my Neon with a shop that had an older machine, I had them balanced at the dealer and all was good.
