Does anyone know if you have to remove the left side motor mount to take the timing belt off? I took my car to a mechanic to fix my blown cam seal and he was going to replace the timing belt too. He said that he could not get the motor mount off because the motor mount bolt was not the right one. So he had to cut part of the engine bay to get the bolt out. :wary I am not sure what he did cause I have not seen the car yet. But I was just wondering if you had to remove the motor mount to get the timing belt off. TIA is advance (a little redundant) :)

Yes you do have to remove the motor mount to remove the timing belt. As for the wrong bolt... he probably got frustrated trying to get that bolt out(it's a PITA)and decided to make it easier for himself.

Yes the mount has to come off.
Yes one bolt is a pain in the @$$

It can be removed with a little manuevering of the motor, so basically I would go and yell at the mechanic, it can be done without cutting up the car.

The bolt wasn't the wrong one, it just won't clear the frame without a good bit of frustration and cussing. Hope he didn't mess anything up.

make sure he puts the exact same friggin bolt back in, too.

I didn't run thru any problem with the motor mount itself, 3 bolts up top, and 1 side one (wich i had to remove the overflow tank and the thing it seats in) Pain is taking the freaking bolts from the timing belt cover, those are pain, who ever tought that you where going to replace the timing belt, and put the longest @#$% bolts in the smallest of places.
