Well, all signs are pointing to my ECU being bad. What number should I look for on it to make sure that I am getting the right one?

there is only one number you need, but depending on the source your getting the replacement from, it could be any of these three:

the one starting in TEH
the one starting with MMC, or

call satan and ask them to look up the part number for a replacement ecu for your VIN. this is the one i had to use. Where are you getting the replacement from? don't just order one off of a website, like nopi, you must call up and match the ECU ids or your car won't start (happened to me, car sat for three weeks because of this). I recommend www.easyfindparts.com , the number is 1800-486-0922. these guys went on a manhunt for my computer, since my car is a early model 95. peace, good luck
