So I finally got it back from the shop yesterday and had both the old one and the bored one sitting next to eachother. I tried comparing them, but is 55mm really that noticable by the eye? The old one was really dirty too, so that might have made things look different. As for responce, I want to say it kept my car pulling until redline whereas prior to then, it would kind of drag....but that might be the sugar pill talking ;P anyone?

well, I had a local performance shop do it, and they sent it to a machine shop. The machine shop was supposed to get it done within a week, but took a month instead, and so I got it free :)

if done correctly, then the difference should be very noticeable.... our stock tbs are something like 46mm at its smallest opening... with a true 55mm bore, than you should see a huge differnce after the hump in the middle...

and when i put my tb in, the response was MUCH better. it was one of my favorite mods.

but will I see a difference in size with the 2 next to each other? 9mm may not be very large to the human eye, but they looked almost identical. Is there something I can buy to measure it and where do I measure at?

It should definitely be a noticeable difference. I bored out my tb by myself using a dremel (basically I took out the hump and opened everything up a little), but probably came no where near 55mm (since you would need a new butterfly valve). Even with my set up you can see the difference between the two.

You should be able to notice the difference, to measure it you need a micrometer or other percision measuring instrument,if you just need to tell the diff of one to the other just use a ruler and you should be able to see the difference, and you measure across the opening.
