Okay, I am trying to change the engine pulleys. I have the puller on the stock pulley now. I am using a power bar to tighten it up. I have broke one puller already last night and went to autozone and borrowed their 5 ton puller. My problem is now, I cannot get the damn thing to budge. The pulley is on there tighter than a nuns twat. Can someone please help out on this? I have read all the installation guides but haven't seen anything about how to get this damn thing off. PLEASE HELP.

Well fruck! I re-read the installation guide hosted by Sean and thought well I must be being a pussy. I went back out and started wrenching the hell out of it. First I twisted off an extension. Then I kept on twisting and finally the pulley broke where one of the jaws was clamped down at. So it's back together and the stock pulley is still on it. I have no freaking idea how to get the damn thing off. This was my second attempt. And when I say I was wrenching it, I mean I was wrenching it. I work out everyday and can press some pretty nice numbers. Bench over 230, squat 500 and I can go on. So I am not a weakling but this damn pulley kicked my ass...LOL If anyone has any idea what I can try next please let me know. It won this battle but the war is not over ;)

it should not be that hard i did mine although i did mine when i took out the engine....
are u using a bolt that is about 1 inch longer than the stock one? or how did you put the puller cause its not so hard the hardest part fo me wan trying to fit the puller in to the pulley and i used the 5 ton thre jaw puller too..losening the stock bolt was actually the hrdest part of it all since the engine kept turning ...what are your tools again and how did you put the in do you have pics by any chance..

It just depends on the car, some people have the same problems as you trying to get the stocker off, on other cars it came right off (like mine!) I heard someone say they drilled little holes in the stock pulley right next to the crank and that loosened it up so it could be pulled off. All i can say is good luck, if all else fails you might just have to pay someone to do it :(

if all else fails, yank the shit outta it, then you gotta kick your front bumper, drink a beer, yank some more, get your cuttin torch, drink another beer, kick the bumper again, reconsider on the torch, yank some more, heh, it can be done

I had the same kind of problems installing my UDP. I ended up having to do the install first thing in the morning when the car was cold and then I heated the pulley up with a torch for about 6-7 minutes then pulled again and the damn thing finally broke loose.

I pulled it an eith of an inch at a time. Back the bolt off an eith of an inch....PULL!...and repeat.

My first attempt failed also. I had the bolt backed out to far and and ended up bend ing the bolt and screwing up a first couple of threads in my crank. I was able to tap it and bick up a new bolt from satan for under $5. All is well now.

Thanks for all the help guys. I knew it would prolly be tough but damn this has turned into a royal pain in the ass mod. It will happen though ;) If I have to pull the freakin engine out to do it, it will happen :thumbsup

use a bar on the end of your rachet that will help you get alot more torque on the bolt.... trust me you can definitly notice it. just remember the longer the bar the easier it goes... well that's what she says at least
