27447, Sensors.. PLEASE help Posted by NAEclipseMatt, Jul-14-02 10:19 AM
Alright I have a new problem with my car... see if anyone knows what this hose running to the sensor is for. On the back of the intake manifold, there are three bungs..each with a sensor or something of the sort screwed in. The one on the leftmost side has three seperate small lines running from it. I recently discovered taht one of my lines has been melted somehow allowing no air to pass, and Im having a few problems with my car and thinking this may be it. Please help me and tell me what that sensor is, it has three prongs off with three seperate lines running away from it, the crimped one running up to the front right of the head, into some metal contraption sticking out that I dont know what it is. Please help

Those are vacume lines. You can by a new one and replace it.

I know they are vaccum lines, but could one being blocked cause my rev limiter to drop to 4k rpm, because I dont know what they run to. Also, where is my map sensor, hate to sound like a newb, but Im not sure which it is, and if it might need to be replaced, I have all my old sensors that still work

a dead map sensor will cause the car to hit a rev lim at 4k.

If you are looking at the intake manifold it is the black sensor on top of it on the passenger side of the car. It has wores coming out the top of it.
