I have a '98 Talon and want to put a muffler on it. I find all these on ebay for 50 - 80 $$ but I want to now if those will work. I am thinking I will have to take the car to a nearby pipe place and have them fit me with a pipe and weld it because the pipe comes out of the muffler and goes over the back axle and then bolts on to the pipe. Is this right or is there an easy way to do this myself that I'm not seeing? Thanks for any help.

the ebay mufflers are universal, so u have to get them welded to ur stock piping. meineke does it for 50 bux.

well it depends on what he wants. my gst muffler can sound pretty high pitched after 4k, but its a performance mod. If its the deep sound u want, u can't go wrong with any universal muffler. u may lose some torque with the universal muff.

Dude, I have a '98 and I just got an N1 catback sys put on...it is the best sounding 2gnt in town now, IMO...if you can find one used...get it!

how much did you pay and where did you get it. I'm trying not to spend too much, just lookin for a good sound.

Is it the whole catback that gives it the sound, or is it just the muffler? If so, why not just get the muffler (if not planning on going turbo). I think I'm going to get a test pipe (www.testpipe.com) and the N1 muff.
