Awhile back, someone was talking about buying a datalogger for our cars. It was like $70 and required the use of a laptop computer in order work. I was wondering if anybody had any info on where to purchase one and how much it is. I could really use such a device to try and figure out what is wrong with my car, cause I dont want to pay thousands of dollars for the Snap-on scan tool. Plus I dont want to have to keep paying someone to scan my car and give me different results every place I go. Also, does the datalogger come with software?

the datalogger is your laptop :)
The basic setup comes with the software and a cable that plugs into your port under the dash.

I just got this program. Still working on putting the connector together...haven't logged any data yet. You can save some money with a student discount and buying the connector as a kit. Total is $82.50. I got a cheap laptop on e-bay to use it.

I couldn't find any schematics for the connector... it isn't as simple as it looks though. Also, is it even possible to build this?
