I have one of those, too, only mine sits right above my cam angle sensor. I had one on my old '69 VW beetle, too.. had something to do with ignition .. Can't remember what it was called...
Ah hah. Just did bit of research. Apparently on the bug it's a condensor, and it's probably still a condenser for us, too. However, what's it's connected to, and what it's doing (or not doing) i haven't a clue. Maybe mr. michael i have the service manual kulaga can shed some light on it? I'm rather curious myself now.
Don't think it's the same thing on our cars. Almost 100% on that.

... This is where you feed the gerbles that run the engine. ha ha... please laugh...
I'll take a look at my manual. But I have a dinner date with an old friend back from college tonight, so if I don't get back to you remind me, bug me, yell at me, etc.

I took a look under my hood and it looks like a capsitor to me i talked to one of the guys at work and he feels the same I have no clue what it does but if it is blowing a fuse like that it has to be shorting somewhere or the cap has gone bad. Also you might want to check the voltage on the cap cause they do hold a charge. You can check the continuity (Sp?) to find out if there is a short in the line somewhere. If it is not grounded properly that could also cause a problem.
