I got my catchcan today.
My plans are to have the EGR vent into the catchcan instead of blocking it off. This way I shouldn't get the CEL. and I will hook it up so it will be fairly easy to put back in place for emissions testing.
Before I do this I want to make sure it is safe and nothing gets messed up. So here are some questions I have if anyone knows.

How much pressure is in the recirculating pipe when it is sending it to the intake?
Does anyone have an idea at what temp the gasses are at when recirculating?
When does the EGR recirculate the gasses. All the time or only when.......?
Does anyone think this will work, or has my imagination trying to F*** me up this time?

Any feedback on this will be greatly appreciated!

Unless you buy a cast iron catchcan, i think the 1400 degree exhaust gas is going to melt just about any catchcan you try to dump it into. Leave the actuator hooked up and the valve in place, remove the pipe and block it off, little chance of a CEL.

Just block the thing off. What you're trying to do is take a simple thing and make it more complicated.

I believe it will be connecting to my valve cover then.

Or maybe for long trips I can hook up a hose with a special end on it and I want have to pull over at a rest area anymore.:D

Okay, well.. your EGR and your valvecover breather are two different things. The EGR recirculates exhaust gas back to the intake manifold, the breather just supplies fresh air to the crankcase. it's normal to put a catchcan on the breather (on the valvecover), but it's lunacy to connect one to your EGR.. haha
