26888, Brake light question Posted by ExcessTalonESi, Jul-08-02 06:52 AM
Hey guys, When I turn my car on in the morning now, the brake light comes on. After the car warms up, it goes away. It also does it if I step on the brakes really hard. This is the brake light that comes on when you have the emergency brake engaged, but it comes on when I DON'T have it engaged. Anyone know what might be going wrong? Is it just some funky short or what? should I just ignore it? Thanks!

mine did the exact same thing when it was colder out. it just went away by itself so i dont think you have a problem.

It is exactly what mcgyvr said. Your brake fluid is low. When you step hard on the brakes, the vacuum sucks the black rubber piece down and trips the sensor.

your brakes are wearing down check them the same exact problem is happening to me check your brakes..when your brakes wear down it sends more brake fluid to make up for the lost space..replace your pads dont add more fluid..it will be fine after changing them..
