So I go to change my spark plugs and put in some new gapped ones, and when I take out the wires, the far left well has oil in it....enough to make a sucktion sound when I pull out the wire and enough to almost drown the plug. Is this normal? I just got this salvaged engine and was hoping everything was ok.

nope not normal. Your valve cover gasket is leaking. There is an OG Corbin write up on the main 2GNT page. Get it fixed.

Yep, this is an easy fix. Your valve cover has the one large gasket that surrounds the outside edge, and 4 small round ones that seal the spark plugs. Just replace those and you should be all set. It's also a good idea to replace the little "half moon" seal on the head while you're doing this.
